All modern, successful companies keep trying to stay ahead of the curve: continually automating their production and introducing modern enterprise management systems. This increases productivity, reduces production cost, and directly increases profit.
With the right approach, automation can be effective at every level of implementation — from DCS up to the highest level of automation. Monitoring and Dispatching Systems stand out from this list. So-called SCADA systems are designed to collect technological data on an operator’s PC for the subsequent management and conduct of the process. Where a company has several departments or remote technological units, all information typically converges on a Control Panel — dedicated premises housing a large number of operator workstations — from where the enterprise is controlled and managed.
That has its pros and cons. The advantage is a consolidated workplace for the operating personnel of a workshop, or even a whole enterprise; the drawback is that control and management of the enterprise is possible only from that Remote Control room.
We offer a solution that lets our clients monitor operations from anywhere on the enterprise: the modern web-based system GESPER MDS. First and foremost, the “GESPER MDS” software package makes it possible to remotely monitor manufacturing performance wherever you are, through a simple and convenient web interface that works in any modern browser — on a phone or on the desktop.
“GESPER MDS” uses pure web technologies — HTML5, CSS, JS — and therefore requires no additional components to run in any modern browser. It is a fully independent visualisation system for equipment operation, complete with charts and reports: a technological portal for your enterprise, with extensive and convenient functionality.
Given the importance of our clients’ trade secrets, GESPER Technology s.r.o. specialists developed the software in line with modern information-security requirements. Access to “GESPER MDS” data is granted only to an active user approved by the system administrator, and all communication between the user and the system runs over SSL encryption to protect data integrity and keep it out of third-party hands.
The “GESPER MDS” package is able not only to collect process data from DCS (SIEMENS, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, and others) via OPC DA, but also to consolidate that data into mnemonics without being bound to the company’s structural divisions — organised instead around business needs.
Simplified structural visualisation of the enterprise is an important step toward simplifying the control and analysis of how production facilities function. “GESPER MDS” is also a convenient tool for process personnel to analyse equipment operation using historical archive graphs and current-process charts.
The graphical-representation mechanism in “GESPER” can provide operational analysis over time periods ranging from 15 minutes — a trend with a constant stream of new data — up to two days, letting technological personnel make operational decisions at a glance. Historical charts are more a tool for the production and technical department, intended for complex analysis of equipment operation, process management, and compliance with norms and standards.
The “set of technical parameters” mechanism lets you build collections of charts for later analysis, and sharing a created set lets you hand a copy of it to colleagues and managers.
